We've made it through week one!

March 30, 2020

We’ve made it through Week 1 and I want to start by saying thank you. Thank you for all taking on this almighty challenge with us!

Some of you may have noticed that the new system still runs through the Lifting Room veins during our remote service. The reason we have opted for a call instead of a live workout is so we can continue to deliver the full intent of every workout and ensure you all have the opportunity to approach them in the best way.

This week saw us focus on our gymnastics skills on Monday, practice our Oly tech on Tuesday, feel the burn on Wednesday, link our Oly and Lifting Room tech work together on Thursday and then Friday was competition time with 7 minutes of constraint driven burpees.

Saturday and Sunday workouts will be designed so the whole family can get involved, it could be a game, team WOD or a fun ‘Chipper’ of simple movements to get everyone moving.

If you can't make our daily Zoom calls, you can see what we get up to by subscribing to our YouTube channel or check in on the Lifting Room Remote Service Facebook Group.

Lockdown is also the perfect opportunity to learn something new. Each day we update the 'learn' section with a suggestion for the day - from TED talks to Great Lifting Room Bake Offs!

On Day 4 we shared this great Full Body CARs - a great way to start or end your day!

We also uploaded a video on how to improvise a homemade sandbag, made some reading suggestions and shared some movement demos for things you can work on at home.

We could all do with something to make us smile right now. Funny GIFs, tips to stay sane, and memes aplenty. If you have a suggestion of something we could include please send it across. Below are some images of the Lifting Room community collecting their loaned kit to make you smile. Don't they look like a happy bunch!

Stay at Home social challenges are everywhere right now. From keepy uppys with toilet roll to the latest dance trends. If you see one you like, give it a go and challenge the Lifting Room community to get involved.

Don't forget to tag us in and use the hashtag #LiftingSpirits
