COVID-19 UPDATE

Following the latest Government update regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus) we have made a few adjustments to our operations to ensure our community remains fit and healthy. 

 

As of 9:30am today we entered Stage 1 of our plan to tackle the virus and minimise the risk of spread.

 

 

 

Effectively immediately all classes will be limited to 6 people. This is to reduce the number of members in the area and footfall to the gym.

 

We all must continue to adhere to the Public Health Organisation Guidelines and we ask that if you are feeling unwell to not come in to the gym. 

 

The advice for anyone in any setting is to follow these main guidelines:

 

  1. The most common symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are recent onset of a new continuous cough and/or high temperature. If you have these symptoms, however mild, stay at home and do not leave your house for 7 days from when your symptoms started. You do not need to call NHS 111 to go into self-isolation. If your symptoms worsen during home isolation or are no better after 7 days, contact NHS 111 online. If you have no internet access, you should call NHS 111. For a medical emergency dial 999.

  2. Wash your hands more often than usual, for 20 seconds using soap and hot water, particularly after coughing, sneezing and blowing your nose, or after being in public areas where other people are doing so. Use hand sanitiser if that’s all you have access to.

  3. To reduce the spread of germs when you cough or sneeze, cover your mouth and nose with a tissue, or your sleeve (not your hands) if you don’t have a tissue, and throw the tissue away immediately. Then wash your hands or use a hand sanitising gel.

  4. Clean and disinfect regularly touched objects and surfaces using your regular cleaning products to reduce the risk of passing the infection on to other people.

 

 We will continue to monitor the situation and will share updates with you when necessary.

 

 

Stage 2 will mean minimising the hours and days we are operating. During this time we will offer home workouts, live streams and also training tips and advice. There will be a number of open gym slots,

with ample time between sessions to reduce the amount of contact between members.

 

 

 

If we enter a situation where we think it is best or we are forced to close, we will continue offering home workouts and extra programming where necessary. We are also exploring a number of options to keep you moving during this time and will issue further updates should we reach this stage.

 

 

 

Our mission to care for and teach our community remains unchanged and we plan on being with you all, throughout this time. Those who are currently self isolating have been sent home workouts. Should we reach the next stage and be required to reduce operations further, or close, we are committed to keeping you all moving, regardless of where you are, through videos and home workouts.

 

We have already added some workout suggestions which can be performed outside of the gym or during open gym sessions on the Home Workouts page. Members have been sent a password to access the workouts via email.
