The Depot Series Pairdown!

October 31, 2017

We want to thank you all once again for a wonderful weekend! It was an absolute delight to see you all let your lovely selves shine through, and it makes us so grateful to have the opportunity to host an event like #TheDepotSeries for our friends, family and the community!

For those of you who missed it, here's a little story of how the competition went down...

We started with a dual WOD; a 3RM Front Squat followed by 2 minutes of as many synchronised Thrusters as possible. There were a mammoth amount of PBs which was incredible to see! Special mention to the Bad Ass Parents Louise & Benny for their incredible mixed pair combined score!

A short break and we were off into WOD 3 the dreaded Prowler push, Rope pull couplet! With the OAPs taking an early lead, they secured a clear run and another first place finish.

It was a close competition with teams the Ana-Hilators (Ana & Phil) and SqottByrne (Scott & Aidan) finishing within 1 second of one another and taking 2nd and 3rd place respectively in the overall competition!

Terry's Squat-Lot Orange,  (Terry & Mat) took home a WOD 1 victory and also placed 1st in WOD 4, missing out on a podium finish by 1 point! I think there may be some redemption in order at our next competition!

We must mention the wonderful; Anthea and Robina of Team Blonde, Mossy and Hannah of It's My Birthday And I'll Cry If I Want To and Kat and Step of The Czechoslovaks, who recorded the fastest time for a single/double under finish in WOD 4!!

You were all a pleasure to watch compete, and all put in an outstanding performance.

Of course we must congratulate the overall winners, OAP's Dean & Jeff! Boys, you were fantastic, placing 3rd or higher across all events. A massive well done from all of #TeamLift!

Your taking part in our events, and support in raising funds for our chosen charity means an incredible amount to us. Through your generosity we were able to raise £110.05 for The Stroke Association. On Sunday 29th October it was World Stroke Day and an honour to be able to raise funds and awareness for a cause close to our hearts.

Thank you once again #TeamLift, you have made us all extremely proud!

Watch this space for more exciting events, fundraisers and socials for the diary in the run up to Christmas and the New Year!

Do you have a charity that you would like to support, if so tell us your story and why raising awareness and funds for this particular charity is close to your heart. Email sophie@liftingroomcrossfit.co.uk - we would love to hear from you!
