Hello September!

A massive congratulations to James winning Member of the Month for his outstanding efforts since joining #TeamLift!

With an active working life, James has quickly adapted to the Lifting Room program and over the last two months he has gone from strength to strength! James' consistency has helped him to improve his hinge and squat mobility which has transferred over into the more complex olympic lifts and the gymnastics movements. James' PB wall was on fire with 3 strict pull ups,  further linked double unders, we even managed to catch his first ever Toes to Bar (pic above). Thank you for your dedication James and well done!

 

Do you have something in common with JT?

When did you join Lifting Room CrossFit?
End of June this year 

 

What brought you to the Lifting Room?
I wanted to get fit and lose some weight.  One of the guys I work with had been to a CrossFit where he used to live, he wanted to try out this one and asked me if I wanted to go along too.  So I thought I’d give it a go, and now I’m hooked!

 

What has been your most memorable moment?
Doing the 50-40-30-20-10 cal WOD on the assault bike. That was really tough.

 

What's been your biggest challenge?
Getting the lifting techniques right, there’s a lot to remember to do in one movement.

 

What’s the best part about working out as part of a CrossFit community?
It’s a great atmosphere with a lot of encouragement from everyone involved.

 

If you could describe the Lifting Room in three words, what would they be?
Difficult, rewarding, addictive!

 

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? 
When there is nice weather, I go out on my motorbike.  Walk the dogs a lot. No sports or clubs, but I do like watching the american football.

And finally....

What's your goal for the rest of 2017?

Lose a bit more weight, and get fit enough to be able to take part in one of the cross country/assault course type runs.

Team Edwards completed the 5km Bubble Run this weekend in aid of The Air Ambulance Service after Matt was involved in a traumatic accident resulting in him being airlifted to hospital. Matt ran this weekend's 5km with two of his sons, Dexter and Freddie only 4 and 6 years old! We are so proud of you all!

Thank you for a fantastic Summer team, it was a thoroughly enjoyable few months with lots of memories made! We're looking forward to the month's ahead and gearing up for Autumn with more events, socials and fundraisers coming your way!
