Member of the Month | June

July 3, 2017

Congratulations Phil!

Phil has done outstandingly well since joining us and when given the news of being awarded Member of the Month, let's just say it was a very humble response! Phil came to us in October last year and has shone through from the beginning. No matter what, he always bring smiles, positivity and laughter to the class, and we know how much other members recognise and appreciate those lovely qualities of his.

We quickly noticed Phil's skills "outside of the box" which consist of being; The Diabolo Master, Paddling Pool King & one yet to be witnessed first hand but we imagine him to be a Table Tennis Dark Horse.

We must also recognise some of Phil's incredible CrossFit achievements, most notably in the olympic lifts. His consistency and patience has paid off and it is an absolute pleasure to see him taking part in our weekly Olympic Lifting classes.

When you see Phil at the box give him a big congratulations and high five!

Getting to know your fellow member...

When did you join Lifting Room CrossFit?

Mid-October 2016

What brought you to the Lifting Room?
Friends told what a great place it was and encouraged me to give it a go.

I love that it took me completely outside my comfort zone and is continually driving me to push my limits.

What has been your most memorable moment?

Had a really great day taking part in the Wolf Run with team TLR, looking forward to doing more of these events together.

What's been your biggest challenge?
Taking part in the Open! But it felt great completing it.

What’s the best part about working out as part of a CrossFit community?

Having a friendly place to unwind and clear my mind when work or life in general gets too busy, and meeting an amazing new bunch of people that are so positive, supportive and a blast  to be with.

If you could describe the Lifting Room in three words, what would they be?

Challenge, sweat, friendship.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? Do you play another sport or are you part of another club?

I enjoy running, especially socially with friends, and I help coaching my son's U14s football team with Weedon FC.

Does eating count as a hobby???

And finally....

What's your goal for the rest of 2017 (this doesn't have to be CrossFit related)?

Remain fit and happy in my life. Keeping it simple... :)

Well done Phil & thank you for continuing to support Team Lifting Room!
